Abstract

We present the complete genome sequence of a strain isolated from surface seawater using an ethylene-α-olefin co-oligomer. The 3.91-Mb genome includes genes for extracellular and intracellular enzymes that degrade polyolefins and synthesize polyhydroxyalkanoates, suggesting potential for converting polyolefins into biodegradable plastics.
