[Study on the cecal flora of the rabbit. Preliminary trial on the early implantation of adult flora into young rabbits].

The microbial flora from rabbit caecum was cultured on a synthetic medium. When feeding weaning rabbits with the product resulting from the fermentation, we obtained better daily growth than in controls (+ 18.7% higher). When microbial cultures were created on a protein rich medium, reserve results were obtained. In conclusion, the most successful culture conditions were those imitating the microbial flora from adult rabbits.
