Lygodium palmatum (Bernh.) Sw. subsp. puskariorum Metzgar, (Lygodiaceae) is described from the eastern USA. This taxon differs from Lygodium palmatum subsp. palmatum by its glabrous leaf undersides, absence of hairs along the fertile and sterile segment petioles, and its geographic range. It is the less widely distributed of the two subspecies.
