Lung injury is one of the most important diseases, which is accompanied by hypoxemia, organ failure, and a high mortality rate. There are several symptoms and causes of lung injuries. In the past years, special attention has been given to investigating the pathophysiology and the treatment of this disease. Octreotide, as an anti-inflammatory, anti-secretory, tissue-repairing, and anti-fibrotic drug, has been considered and administered for the treatment of lung injury. This review article considered the pharmacological effects of octreotide on physiopathological conditions in patients or animal models that have direct or indirect lung injury.
Keywords including "octreotide" OR "sandostatin" AND "lung injury" OR "ARDS" OR "respiratory distress" OR "lung fibrosis" were searched in the database of PubMed, and 44 articles were found. According to the direct or indirect lung injury, the articles were classified.
It appears that octreotide is a protective drug for the treatment of direct and indirect lung injuries, exhibiting anti-inflammatory, anti-hypersecretory, anti-fibrotic, and anti-neutrophil permeability effects, while also increasing endogenous antioxidants. However, there is still room for extensive research to fully clarify the effectiveness of octreotide for direct or indirect lung injury.
肺损伤是最重要的疾病之一，常伴有低氧血症、器官衰竭及高死亡率。肺损伤有多种症状和病因。在过去几年中，对该疾病的病理生理学及治疗研究给予了特别关注。奥曲肽作为一种抗炎、抗分泌、组织修复及抗纤维化药物，已被考虑用于治疗肺损伤。这篇综述文章探讨了奥曲肽对患有直接或间接肺损伤的患者或动物模型生理病理状况的药理作用。
在PubMed数据库中搜索了包括“奥曲肽”或“善宁”以及“肺损伤”或“急性呼吸窘迫综合征”或“呼吸窘迫”或“肺纤维化”等关键词，共找到44篇文章。根据直接或间接肺损伤对这些文章进行了分类。
奥曲肽似乎是一种用于治疗直接和间接肺损伤的保护药物，具有抗炎、抗分泌过多、抗纤维化及抗中性粒细胞通透性作用，同时还能增加内源性抗氧化剂。然而，仍有大量研究空间以充分阐明奥曲肽对直接或间接肺损伤的有效性。
