An otherwise healthy young male sustained a non-displaced fracture of the pelvis in a blunt trauma from a motor vehicle accident. A fever developed on his second post injury day which led to discovery of an intrahepatic abscess by CAT scan. After blunt trauma to the abdomen, one must consider not only a retroperitoneal hematoma but also, subphrenic, subdiaphragmatic and intrahepatic abscess as its complication.
