Abstract

The mutagenic potential of five commonly used oral hygiene products using the Ames test is of interest. Fluoridated and herbal toothpastes showed no mutagenicity. Alcohol-based and chlorhexidine mouthwashes demonstrated moderate mutagenic effects, especially with metabolic activation. Hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse exhibited the highest mutagenicity without S9 activation. Thus, the need for further investigation to validate safety profiles is relevant.

利用艾姆斯试验研究五种常用口腔卫生用品的致突变潜力很有意义。含氟牙膏和草本牙膏未显示出致突变性。含酒精漱口水和洗必泰漱口水表现出中度致突变作用,尤其是在有代谢活化的情况下。过氧化氢漱口水在无S9活化时表现出最高的致突变性。因此,有必要进一步研究以验证其安全性。
