It was shown in experiments on male rats that sygethin an analogue of synesterol devoid of estrogenic effect decreased cholesterol level in the intact animals and diminished hypercholesterolemia induced by dexamethasone. Sygethin inhibited the hypertriglyceridemia induced by diethylstilbestrol, as well as by ethanol and dexamethasone.
