Abstract
The perinatal effects of phenoperidine and of epidural anaesthesia were studied in a randomised trial in which only normal patients were studied. Foetal heart rate curves, pH, pCO2 and neonatal clinical behaviour demonstrated that both kinds of analgesia had no harmful effects.
