In the focus of connective tissue de novo formation under aseptic inflammation, no stem blood-forming cells were found which are an initial form of histogenesis of fibroblast-like cells. The proliferative ability of fibroblast-like and other cells of the inflammation focus at its different stages has been studied using cell tissue culture and 3H-thymidine autoradiography. Fibroblast-like cells in the focus of aseptic inflammation appear to represent an independent, not connected with macrophages, line of differentiation. The characteristics of main stages of histogenesis of fibroblast-like cells is given on the basis of the author's and literary data.
