The mode of action of acupuncture is briefly reviewed. The effect of auriculo-acupuncture is ascribed to a direct reflex action via the brain. Attempts are being made to employ auriculo-acupuncture in the treatment of acute and chronic bronchial asthma. The preliminary results are encouraging.
