Thirty patients with 57 basal cell carcinomas of the head and neck underwent cryosurgery during the years 1971--1973. Treatment was performed in the outpatient clinic, and no premedication or local anaesthesia was required. Residual disease necessitating local excision was found in 4 patients at follow-up which extended over a period of 2 years. The technique proved to be simple and safe. However, since tissue was not available for histological control, rigid criteria for patient selection and a prolonged follow-up are required.
1971年至1973年间，30例患有57处头颈部基底细胞癌的患者接受了冷冻手术。手术在门诊进行，无需术前用药或局部麻醉。在为期2年的随访中，发现4例患者有需要局部切除的残留病灶。该技术被证明简单且安全。然而，由于无法获取组织进行组织学检查，因此需要严格的患者选择标准和长期随访。
