A method for coating erythrocytes with lipopolysaccharides using glutaraldehyde as a coupling agent is described. The effect of different factors on the reaction was investigated. The method is specific and the performance simple. It yields haemagglutination titres equal to those obtained with the routine method of Neter. The erythrocyte preparations are stable over 6 weeks.
