Abstract

The viscera and brains of 18 stillborns and dying newborn babies infected with mycoplasmas were examined. The etiological diagnosis was done by direct Coons method using antisera against M. hominis and M. pneumoniae. A high percentage (50%) of congenital malformations in mycoplasma-infected babies was observed. Histological and histochemical examinations of the brains and internal organs revealed marked circulatory disorders and degenerative changes indicative of a pathological process which had occurred. Mycoplasmal infection contracted by the fetus in the uterus or during the delivery may be assumed to be pathogenic. Based on the data from the literature and the own observations it is suggested that urogenital mycoplasmas may exert a teratogenic effect on the human fetus.

对18例感染支原体的死产儿和濒死新生儿的内脏和大脑进行了检查。采用针对人型支原体和解脲脲原体的抗血清,通过直接孔氏法进行病因诊断。观察到支原体感染婴儿中先天性畸形的比例很高(50%)。对大脑和内脏器官的组织学和组织化学检查显示,有明显的循环障碍和退行性变化,表明已经发生了病理过程。可以认为胎儿在子宫内或分娩期间感染支原体具有致病性。根据文献数据和自身观察结果,提示泌尿生殖道支原体可能对人类胎儿产生致畸作用。
