Dystrophic and degenerative disturbances in tubular epithelium are established by electron microscopy. Ultrastructural changes suggested that transport mechanisms in the proximal tubule are enhanced by cytoplasm vesiculation and dilation of intercellular spaces. Transepithelial pinocytosis is the basic process in distal tubules.
