Problems of diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of recurring urothelial tumours of the urinary tract are discussed on the basis of six cases. An urothelial tumour can be considered as a local manifestation of general disorder of the mucosa of urinary tract and therefore every patient with such a tumour has to undergo regular X-ray and endoscopic checks of the whole urinary tract, even if the tumour has been radically operated. Among 38 urothelial tumours of the upper urinary tract there were 6 recurring tumours (15.7%) at different sites and of varying malignancy. Descending and ascending tendencies of spread were observed.
