Results of the present study demonstrate that in vitro covalent binding of radioactivity from the edematogenic agent [14C] thiourea to rat lung protein can occur under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Binding of thiourea to lung protein is associated with a reduction in glutathione. The binding of [14C] from thiourea to lung protein is temperature dependent.
