This paper describes techniques used to fabricate enclosures for reducing employee exposure to noise while attaining little or no operational hindrance. The noise enclosures discussed and shown include screw machines, scrap plastic regrinders and their related pneumatic conveying system, as well as high speed presses while having full view of their operation. Engineering design data and noise attenuation results are evaluated.
