Stool checks for Salmonella were carried out daily for several weeks in twelve men working in surroundings heavily contaminated by enteritis Salmonellae. Eleven of the workmen periodically showed salmonella in faeces. Positivity fluctuated from person to person between 2 and 37% and, depending on the day of the week, between 5 and 17%. The time taken for excretion was probably always less then seven days.
