Abstract
This article examines the medico-legal autopsies performed in a period of nine years in a community and teaching hospital; there was a total of 900 such examinations. It records the experience of a pathologist without specialized forensic training, and suggests that much medico-legal pathology will continue to be performed by general pathologists. Recommendations are made for expansion of ancillary services, for postgraduate and refresher training, and for modifications in the legal and police system.

本文研究了一所社区教学医院在九年时间里进行的法医尸检情况；此类检查共计900例。文中记录了一位未经专门法医培训的病理学家的经验，并表明许多法医病理学工作仍将由普通病理学家来完成。文中还就扩大辅助服务、开展研究生和进修培训以及对法律和警察系统进行改革提出了建议。
