By improving the flavour of an elementary diet rich in aminoacids it was possible to treat 33 patients with inflammatory bowel diseases over longer periods compared to the duration of treatment with Vivasorb elementary diet. This was accomplished by addition of certain fruit juices, several kinds of teas, soups and relishes. Difficulties by taste of BSD could largely be overcome.
