Lymph node tissue from guinea-pigs immunized against one of several antigens was cultured in different media in order to determine conditions under which maximal amounts of antibody are formed . The amounts of antibody formed were variable and bore no relation to the level of serum antibody in the tissue donor. Heterologous sera of several origins, when included in the culture medium, varied very markedly in their capacity to support antibody production .
