If the trephining is performed retrocanalicularly, the scleral spur and the ciliary muscle are involved. Iridodialysis and haemorrhage from the circulus arteriosus iridis major may occur in the peripheral iridorhexis, which is recommended for the iridencleisis and for the iridectomy in acute glaucoma. The proof for the decompression of the intrascleral optical canal in central vein thrombosis by the surgical procedure reported by Vasco-Posada cannot be deduced when the topographic-anatomical circumstances are taken into consideration.
