Abstract
Both pairs of dl-11-desoxy- and dl-13-cis-erythro-15,16-dihydroxyprostaglandins have been synthesized via 1,4-conjugate additions of an appropriately functionalized cis-vinyl cuprate to the requisite cyclopentenone. These prostaglandin analogs are considerably less potent than PGE2 as gastric secretion inhibitors or as bronchodilators.
