In the literature of research in psychotherapy there are more and more hints for a theoretical integration of different therapeutic methods. Five theses are offered to demonstrate the necessity of these efforts and why it is nearly impossible to solve the problem of integration today. Success seems to be depending on changes in the way of thinking about psychotherapy and about research methodology. These theses are focused on micro-analysis of therapeutic processes. They are thought to give new stimulation for psychotherapy and research.
