[Explorative laparotomy and splenectomy for staging Hodgkin's disease in children (author's transl)].

We recommend explorative laparotomy with splenectomy in the field of Hodgkin's lymphoma even in childhood. Operation is an early therapeutic and diagnostic method enabling further treatment to be made in relation to the stages of the disease. A chance of better survival seems to exist in children with Hodgkin's disease.
