[Electron microscopic investigations of the phagocytosis and digestion of foreign erythrocytes by peritoneal macrophages (author's transl)].

The erythrophagocytosis begins after 30 up to 60 min. The hemolysis is detectable 30 min later. After that myelin figures are formed which are digested up to 36 h. After 24 h the digestive vacuoles and the cytoplasm show ferritin molecules. After 14 d the digestion is finished.
