Radiosensitivity testing, virulence indices, and stromal reaction in carcinoma of the cervix uteri.

A relatively simple, clinically applicable, analytic-pathologic approach to the complex problem of carcinoma of the uterine cervix is given. Careful study of control and post-test radiation cervical biopsies and evaluation of the type and grade of the carcinoma, the lymphatic vessel involvement, the stromal host reaction, and the tumor response to test radiation offer additional parameters in the therapeutic approach, aiming at the improvement of prognosis. We also hope that this work offers a contribution to the complex problem of tumor biology and pathology.
