Electron-phase-contrast imaging of unstained biological materials, embedded in a water-soluble melamine resin.

It is shown that electron-phase-contrast images of unstained, melamine-embedded membranes, muscles and collagen fibers favorably compare with images recorded from corresponding preparations which have in addition been stained with heavy metals, with regard to both contrast and resolution of structural detail.
