Pleural fluid cytology in lymphoplasmacytoid lymphoma with numerous intracytoplasmic immunoglobulin inclusions. A case report with immunocytochemistry.

Description is given of the cytology and immunocytochemistry of pleural fluid in a case of lymphoplasmacytoid lymphoma with unusually numerous IgM kappa intracytoplasmic inclusions. The therapeutic and prognostic importance of the distinction between this rare vacuolated cell form of lymphoma and metastatic adenocarcinoma is stressed, and the most helpful diagnostic features are discussed.
