Abstract
The parasitological study of the shrew Crocidura russula from Catalonia (Spain) allowed to collect several mature Hymenolepididae, the scolex framework of which corresponding perfectly to that of the larva Staphylocytis biliarius Villot, 1877. The anatomy of the adult stage of this species, which has to be denominated as Hymenolepis biliarius (Villot, 1877) n. comb., is described for the first time.
