[Experiences in therapy of acute labyrinthine deafness with low-molecular dextran, pentoxifyllin and nicotinic acid (author's transl)].

112 cases of sudden unilateral deafness are reported 62% of the patients were treated by means of improving microcirculation, in 38% the treatment was based on drugs with different points of attack. The results of the both groups were compared. There was no significant difference between the audiometric results after therapy. In 84% of the patients the treatment started within 14 days after the sudden hearing loss. The early treatment within 3 days after the occurrence showed no better results than the beginning of treatment later than 3 days.
