Within the limits of the regulation currently in force, medicolegal diagnosis of occupational disease, as performed by INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Occupational Diseases), play a by no means secondary rôle in prevention. If such diagnosis is made in the very early stages, disability can even be prevented and therefore the necessity of rehabilitation avoided.
