Differences between adult and fetal human fibroblasts have been found in the enzyme patterns of adenosine deaminase, acid phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase. In each case the pattern seen in adult fibroblast cultures transformed with SV 40 virus resembled that of fetal fibroblasts.
