The ability of nursing programs to enter untraditional clinical areas to provide services to needy clients is a resource for both nursing schools and clients. This outreach program in a downtown hotel resulted in favorable impacts on the student nurses, the ICNE program, the community and, most of all, the residents of the hotel. It is possible that enlargement of this model could have a significant positive effect upon the face of the central business district of any city.
