Some applications of salivary gland scintigraphy.

Some of the uses of technetium 99 pertechnetate in salivary gland investigation are shown. By means of a gamma camera, which records dynamic studies, normal salivary physiology is investigated and also various forms of salivary gland pathology. The use of salivary scintigraphy in evaluation of the end results of parotid duct repositioning is discussed. This does not appear to have been reported previously.
