Influence of dexamethasone, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and physical load on activity of corticotropin, 11-oxycorticosteroids (11-OHCS), adrenaline, noradrenaline, glucose in arterial blood was studied in chronic experiment on dogs. A comparison with intact dog responses to exogenous PGE2 revealed an increase of corticotropin and 11-OHCS and a decrease of noradrenaline in arterial blood. Dexamethasone prevented adrenocortical activity in response to PGE2; it helped, however, to increase activity of noradrenaline.
