Using the flow-cytofluorometric technique, 47 consecutive cases of pituitary tumours were analyzed regarding DNA ploidy and the percentage of cells in different phases of the cell cycle. About 20,000-30,000 cells from each tumour were analyzed. Tumours causing acromegaly showed a higher incidence of high percentages of S-phase cells (greater than or equal to 10%) than any other endocrinological type of pituitary tumour. 3 of 6 tumours with high percentages of S-phase cells showed clinically aggressive growth patterns.
采用流式细胞荧光测定技术,对47例连续性垂体肿瘤病例的DNA倍性及细胞周期不同阶段的细胞百分比进行了分析。对每个肿瘤约20,000 - 30,000个细胞进行了分析。导致肢端肥大症的肿瘤相比其他任何内分泌类型的垂体肿瘤,S期细胞百分比高(大于或等于10%)的发生率更高。6例S期细胞百分比高的肿瘤中有3例表现出临床侵袭性生长模式。
