[Affinity chromatography for the detection of human endogenous inhibitor of NA+, K+ -ATPase].

Na+, K+ -ATPase was immobilized in an ovalbumin-glutaraldehyde polymer and was used for the purification by affinity chromatography of the endogenous Na+, K+ -ATPase inhibitor from human plasma and urine. The endogenous inhibitor is increased in plasma of hypertensive subjects in comparison with normotensive subjects. An increase of the inhibitor is also found in urine collected during a salt load in comparison with normal urine.
