[Indications and contraindications to the removal of foreign bodies from the gastrointestinal tract].

The article describes 163 patients with foreign bodies in the gastro-intestinal tract. The operative method of treatment was used in 57 patients. Urgent operations were performed in 34 patients with multiple foreign bodies and symptoms of peritonitis. Simple operations were used in 23 patients with fixed or immobile foreign bodies.
