[Physical lymphatic drainage and edema therapy at the Feldberg Clinic. Historical overview of the current state of physico-lymphological medicine].

The historical course of the development of physical methods of edema treatment and the value of the different techniques are critically appraised. The teaching institutions supervised by the German Lymphological Association are contrasted with the Dr. Vodder Schools. The report serves to develop appropriate teaching and treatment with a technique which is of great importance in cancer followup, traumatology and rheumatology as well as in the concomitant edemas of diseases of the trunk, the head and the limbs.
