The CO2 laser in infertility surgery.

The CO2 laser has been receiving increasing publicity recently regarding its use intraabdominally for infertility surgery. The concept of using the CO2 laser for reconstructive pelvic surgery is relatively new and considered controversial by many. A brief review of the biophysics of the CO2 laser, points of laser safety and the action of the CO2 laser beam on tissues enhances a discussion of the different methods of using the CO2 laser intraabdominally for reconstructive pelvic surgery.
