Abstract

To examine the toxicity of three nickeliferous ores (Noumea Mines, Société le Nickel, in vitro tests were carried out with mammalian cells: haemolysis of human red blood cells (RBC), release of enzymes by rabbit alveolar macrophages (AM) for studying inflammation, and study of rat pleural mesothelial cells (PMC) to determine the effect on cellular growth and genotoxic effects.
