Acute experiments in cats with local stimulations of muscle in the vicinity of spindle showed different grades of decrease in the receptors firing rate depending on the spatial correlation among actibe and inactive portions of the muscle. The same effect occurred in the intensive contraction of an adjacent synergic muscle. Participation of passive and alpha-gamma-coactivated spindles in the mechanism aiding to describing mosaics of excited and non-excited portions of the muscle in the c. n. s., is discussed.
