[Analysis of the reasons for the late diagnosis of malignant ovarian tumors in Belorussia].

The analysis of the causes of long-standing malignant ovarian tumors was made using the clinical materials reported by the Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology of the BSSR Ministry of Health, and the Gomel, Minsk and Mogilev City Oncological Dispensaries. Under study were the clinical findings of 1794 patients with malignant ovarian tumors for the period of 1965-1977. According to the data of the above-mentioned medical establishments patients themselves were responsible for the advanced stage of the malignancy in 28.2%, medical specialists--in 53.3%, the disease had a latent course in 11.8%, in 6.7% of cases the cause remained unknown.
