A clinical observation is presented, of patient with a transfixiant wound of the right lung that penetrated the right heart ventricle. Surgery was performed and the patient recovered without sequels. Comments are made in connection with the frequency of cardiac wounds, with the diagnosis and the emergency surgical treatment. The patient was followed clinically and para-clinically for a period of two years by functional explorations, electrocardiography, radiology and immunological methods. An auto-immune post-traumatic pericarditis ws noted in the evolution.
