An 80-yr-old man with advanced gastric cancer was admitted on September 10, 1982. He received no surgery owing to a moderate attack of bronchial asthma, hypertension and cardiac, pulmonary and renal function disturbances. Chemotherapy was started after discharge. The treatment regimen was the oral administration of 5-fluorouracil tablets at a dose of 200 mg a day, every day. Endoscopic examination 10 weeks after the initiation of chemotherapy revealed complete regression of the tumor and the biopsy specimen revealed no cancer cells. Since then, X-ray and endoscopic examination have been performed every two to three months. The patient is still well without relapse of the disease.
一名80岁的晚期胃癌男性患者于1982年9月10日入院。由于中度支气管哮喘发作、高血压以及心、肺和肾功能障碍，他未接受手术治疗。出院后开始化疗。治疗方案为每天口服5-氟尿嘧啶片，剂量为每日200毫克。化疗开始10周后的内镜检查显示肿瘤完全消退，活检标本未发现癌细胞。从那时起，每两到三个月进行一次X线和内镜检查。患者目前情况良好，疾病未复发。
