This study surveyed a sample of dermatologists in an effort to determine their assessments of pharmacists' compounding ability. Results indicate that dermatologists refer patients to specific pharmacies perhaps because a high percentage of patients had complained about pharmacists being unable or unwilling to fill compounded prescriptions. Data also indicate a higher level of confidence in the pharmacists' actual practice than in their training for that practice.
