Abstract

Cell surface proteins from eight Candida species were compared by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The cell wall proteins of these species were similar in their electrophoretic patterns. On the other hand, differences were detected among the patterns of membrane proteins, although C. albicans serotypes A and B gave similar electrophoretic patterns, and so did two species (C. pseudotropicalis and C. parapsilosis).
