[Evaluation of a new chromogenic method for measuring prothrombin time in the control of oral anticoagulant therapy].

In this study we compared a new chromogenic prothrombin assay, utilizing Chromozym TH, with some commercially available test system commonly used for monitoring oral anticoagulant (OA) therapy. The chromogenic assay has been applied to the Multistat III. In 75 patients attending OA therapy it showed excellent correlation and good diagnostic correspondence to the other methods. The present results indicate that the chromogenic prothrombin assay could be a worthful tool in monitoring OA therapy.
