The authors carried out a study of 15 patients with congenital aplasia of the tibia, 12 total and 6 partial. The clinical and radiographic characteristics of this severe deformity are discussed in relation to the classification and indications for treatment. The authors, whose preference is towards reconstructive surgery, had good results in the partial forms whilst in the total form reconstruction of a new knee joint gave functionally worthwhile results in exceptional cases.
作者对15例先天性胫骨发育不全患者进行了研究，其中完全性发育不全12例，部分性发育不全6例。结合该严重畸形的分类和治疗指征，讨论了其临床和影像学特征。作者倾向于采用重建手术，对于部分性发育不全病例取得了良好效果，而对于完全性发育不全病例，在特殊情况下重建新膝关节获得了具有功能价值的结果。
